It’s time to say goodbye to Indian summer and welcome back Karl the fog with open arms. The locals already know this, but we like to remind those new to San Francisco to remember three words: layer, layer, layer! At gather, we have some favorites that serve this very purpose.

First, we never leave the house without our Warbler hooded rain jacket by Bridge and Burn. With its double hand packets and slight hi-lo hem, it provides functionality with feminine details. This item is 100% Nylon and is available in Black or Olive. Great to wear to work or a casual stroll to your local coffee shop.

And with the fog rolling in, time to put on a sweater! What better way to leave our heart in San Francisco than to cozy up in our Raven Sweatshirt by Preloved? Each sweater is constructed with 14oz terry and mixed red vintage sweater fabric for hearts, front and back, making each sweater a unique piece. Sleeves are ¾ length. Available in navy stripe or black stripe.

In typical San Francisco fashion, the sun has decided to show up for a little while, so time to peel off that sweater and jacket and change into something a little flirtier. New in store, we enjoy twirling in the sun with our airy Paper Crane Top by gather X harumi K. This blouse features a tulip flyaway back to flash just a hint of skin. Front mustard fabric features white paper cranes, found by gather owner Daisy on her latest trip to Paris. Back is solid dark teal, high quality 100% cotton poplin made in Japan. Pair this tank with your favorite skinny jeans or wear it with a blazer when it’s time to go to the office. These tops are available in a variety of patterns.

Make a statement with pairing your tulip top by adding a statement piece. We love Roxanne Roxanne's fiber necklaces (seen above) but we also just added new necklaces by Crescent Company. Made with a mix of nylon rope and polymer clay, each piece is sure to be a conversation starter. Lightweight and easy to wear!

Need a new dress you can  layer with our micro climates' ever changing temps? We are living in this new Make It Good number. It looks wonderful with tights, booties, and a cozy cardigan perfect for running around town. And that print- could it be any cooler?!

Stop by the shop to check out all our new Fall arrivals. We have new things hitting our racks every day!

San Francisco fall season can be unpredictable; tank and shorts one day, booties and cardigan the next. If we’re lucky, perhaps we’ll pull out our umbrellas once in a while! What makes an Indian summer fun is the range of pieces we can show off from our wardrobes, and blend summer colors with fall basics. gather is happy to make that transition with you as we bring in our new fall items!

First up is one of our personal favorites: the dark grey pebble knit cardigan from Make it Good.  It is the perfect balance of stylish and  comfortable, with a soft flannel lining that is still light enough for fall. Grab it before going out on a chilly San Francisco evening, or throw it on during a cozy night in with tea and a good book.

You can also dress up Make it Good’s dark grey cardigan with these beautiful crystal necklaces from Jax Kelly. Choose your stone according to your birth month or simply on your mood!

How about adding a new patterned blouse to your work attire? This orange leopard dot blouse from Bridge and Burn drapes beautifully; you can tuck it into some black or faded grey skinny jeans, add a leather belt, and pull on some boots. We recommend adding some pieces of gold jewelry to pair with this lovely shade of orange! (Displayed with: Harumi K Black Diamond miniskirt, Lanyapi Designs’ Blue Goldstone Triangle necklace)

And if orange is really your color, you can add Floss Gloss’s new nail polish color, Donatella, to your collection! All of their products are cruelty free and formulated without formaldehyde.

For a casual weekend hangout, check out Preloved’s new rendition of the flannel look: a patchwork of flannel, denim, and lightweight jersey sleeves. Available in store in this red and black, black and grey, also a green and grey!

Lastly, scarves are a must have this season for those “not-cold-not-so-warm” days. Add some flair to any of your basic tees with these new, fun patterns from Passion Lillie.
