Yesterday we hosted the lovely Jeriel and Tim of Fable Soap Co to come and teach a Soaps and Salves Workshop. They walked us through the process of making a Spanish style castile soap and a healing salve. Making bath products is alot more complicated than it seems - full of science and constant experimentation but Jeriel and Tim's approach made it seem possible once we got home. Join us for our Soaps and Salves Workshop at gather on Thursday October 27th at 7pm. This class is taught by Jeriel Sydney, local artisanal soap maker. Jeriel will demonstrate her process of making castille soap and healing salve. Each student will get to take their handmade products home as well as instruction to re-create their products.
Jeriel first learned to make soap as a child under the guidance of her crafty mom. After four months studying artisanal soap making in Italy she started her business Fable Soap Co specializing in goat's milk soap and hand-crafted skin products.
